Hongqian (Kathy) Zhang
Kathy graduated from a top tier law school in China. Before she came to Canada, Kathy was a judge adjudicating commercial and civil disputes in Shenzhen Municipal Intermediate People’s Court. Kathy obtained her first Master degree in Law from the University of Hong Kong and her second Master from Dalhousie University.
Kathy has served thousands of local clients on various legal matters including general corporate matters, business transactions, shareholder disputes, civil litigation, family law matters, residential and commercial real estate conveyances, wills and estate planning, and notarial services. Kathy also regularly assists local and oversea companies on cross-border transactions.
Kathy is a native Mandarin speaker and has Chinese drafting ability. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband and children, as well as traveling, cooking, biking and reading.

Grace holds a law degree from China. She has years of experience as an in-house legal counsel with a multi-national real property development company located in Shanghai, China. Currently, as an administrator, Grace is responsible for managing the administrative operations of the Firm.
Grace speaks both English and Mandarin Chinese fluently.

Ray (Rui) Zhang graduated from the York University’s Law & Society Honours Bachelor of Arts with the highest academic distinction and obtained the Professional Certificate in Public Administration and Law in 2019. He graduated from Humber College’s Paralegal Education program with Honour and obtained his Paralegal License from the Law Society of Ontario in 2015. Before join Weninger Zhang Law Firm, he practiced for two years as a legal assistant at Toronto’s boutique law firms focusing on Real Estate and Immigration laws. His education and work experience enabled him to understand the relationship between law and society and the significance of the rule of law.
Ray Zhang can speak Mandarin and English fluently. He is a diligent, responsible, and goal-oriented person. In his spare time, Ray enjoys reading books in different fields, he likes hiking, swimming, cooking, biking, and watching movies.
Summer Student/2020 Articling Student
Ivy is currently completing her law degree at the University of Calgary. She joined Kathy Zhang Law Firm as a summer student in her first year of law school. Ivy is a part of Student Legal Assistance and Pro-Bono Students Canada. As an executive member for the Law Student Newspaper, The Moot Times, Ivy took a leadership role in bringing the publication online so that it is more accessible to the legal community at large. Ivy competed in both the McGillivray Moot and the Dentons Negotiation Competition. Currently, she is a part of the Alberta Queen’s Bench Amicus Program, helping self-litigants to understand the court processes and procedures. Ivy speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.
In her spare time, Ivy is heavily involved with the art community. Her paintings have been exhibited and sold in numerous art shows throughout the years.
